A Banner a Day
This is a personal ongoing project in response to the significant history of protest banners.
I
have always been drawn to protest banners as such a clear,
everlasting summary of the core values of the act of protest.
Banners have to be beautiful and have to lock in history. I was
intrigued by this idea that the reasons banners are so successful
is because you want to look at them. I thought about how we
all have so many thoughts a day, some bigger than others but
all have similar value. Therefore I have been writing down
everything that happened on my day and turning the most
prominent though of that day into a banner. This is a way of
filtering through my day and sharing something I think with
others. These banners are a reflection of my opinions, current
events and what I am thinking about during this stage of my life.
They are responsive and invite people to respond to them.
