Many Hands Make Kites

Awarded a D&AD Newblood Pencil

Many Hands Make Kites is a response to a D&AD brief set by the Fossil Fuel Non proliferation Treaty which was to create a symbol of hope, unity & action that could be a banner icon for the fossil fuel free movement with the potential to transcend language and capture people’s imaginations by becoming part of the cultural zeitgeist.

I decided to create a symbol that would not only visually represent our movement but also serve as a physical activity to unite people, bringing joy, hope, and a sense of purpose. Kites perfectly embody this vision. They symbolize rising up and the fossil fuel free movement taking off, powered by wind and natural resources. Flying a kite typically involves more than one person, fostering joy and unity within the community. I am extremely honored to have won a Pencil for this project.
